I'm Irene Sacristán Hernández, a designer and advertiser with a special interest in UX/UI design and illustration. But this, really says little about how I work, so let me tell you where my way of thinking comes from.
I grew up surrounded by art because one of my grandfathers painted in oils and the other was a studio photographer. Since then, drawing has been one of my favorite ways to express myself. Illustration has trained me in something I consider key to any creative process: turning the abstract into something tangible. When an idea comes to mind, I can draw it, which lets me imagine it and test it without restrictions before moving on to anything else. I saw this clearly in my final degree project, the limited edition of Tarchi's album Recuerda que vas a morir, where I started from a concept and developed the illustrations from it (I explain it in detail in my portfolio).
That same way of thinking led me to UX/UI, which I discovered at university. When I make wireframes, I use what I learned from illustrating to see the structure of a website before it exists, always grounded in prior user research. I've put this into practice in projects focused on inclusion, such as our adaptation of the classic board game Cluedo for blind people, and during my internship at twom, where I developed their website and designed content for social media and events, integrating AI as a working tool.
I'm open to continuing to grow in design and advertising, and I would love to take part in real projects that keep challenging me.
